Speaking of cheap solo spas...

France has plenty of spas and staying at hotels can be hugely expensive, not to mention the solo supplement. Most spa towns have real estate agencies that rent out studios very near the spa venue, at a fraction of the cost of the hotels, and of course, there's no single supplement in a studio.

I did this in La Grande Motte, and I swear my studio was no further from the spa facilities than if I'd stayed in the hotel!
